General information

Welcome to Hans Dietrich Software, where you will find software components written for Windows platforms. Many of these components are written in standard C++, without requiring any framework or external libraries. Some are written using MFC. Most have been tested using Visual Studio 6 and either Visual Studio 2005 or 2008, and include demo projects and workspaces for these environments.

Some of the software components are offered as a free download; some have both a free download and an updated version that is available for a small license fee. And there are some that are only offered for a fee, but you can read the component's product page before deciding to buy a license.

Browse the Software Catalog for a complete list of the software offered on this site. To buy a license for a component, click on the secure Paypal Add to Cart button on the component's product page. You will receive by email the component source code, demo applications, and project workspaces, once the payment has been processed. The component price includes a license for use by one developer; there is no expiration date, and there is no limit on how many products the component may be used in, as long as only one developer is using it.

Here are some of the questions we have been asked recently:

Why are you selling licenses for software that you used to give away for free?

None of the software components that are licensed were ever given away for free; they are new versions, with improvements and new features, and have never been offered before anywhere. These licensed components help to fund work on new components and updates.

What do I get when I license a component?

You will receive by email a download link and password for the component source code, demo applications, and project workspaces. The email will be sent to your standard Paypal email address. If you want the email sent to a different address, please let us know. The email will be sent from support@hdsoft.org, so be sure to add that to your whitelist.

Does the license price include future updates?

No. Only the current version of the component is included; future versions must be licensed separately.

What if I want to customize a component?
